QA Coordinator
Job Description:
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
Working closely with the QA Manager, this role supports the management and continuous improvement of food safety, quality, and regulatory systems, including HACCP and BRCGS (GFSI) compliance, while maintaining document control and the Quality Management System. The role prepares for and supports third-party and internal audits, manages supplier and product documentation, investigates complaints and non-conformances, analyses quality trends, and ensures effective CAPA and change management processes. The role also develops SOPs and training materials, supports specifications and impact assessments, and leads key projects focused on continuous improvement and business optimisation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Working directly with the QA Manager to support the management and optimisation of food safety, quality and regulatory systems, HACCP, and BRCGS (GFSI) compliance
Maintain document control and our Quality Management System documentation
Support and prepare for third-party audits (GFSI, customers, Halal, Kosher, RSPO, export)
Conduct internal system/documentation audits and work with various departments to ensure effective root cause analysis is completed, and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Identify and report trends in quality data, complaints, or non-conformances
Develop SOPs and staff training documentation on food safety, hygiene, allergen handling, and quality procedures.
Support customer complaint investigations and response reports
Maintain approved supplier documentation and ensure supplier compliance with specifications
Assist in creating or reviewing product specifications, labels, and raw materials
Complete desktop impact assessments on all new and existing specifications for raw materials and finished products
Assist with the maintenance of the rework register
Support with change management documentation
Lead key projects as assigned, including continuous improvement and up-regulation projects, and make recommendations to the business to streamline success
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Extensive QA experience within the food industry
Tertiary education within a relevant topic: food science and technology, microbiology, and food engineering
Experience and familiarity with GFSI standards (BRCGS)
Good working knowledge of food law (e.g Codex) and ability to rapidly upskill in FSANZ food law
Internal Auditing experience
As a remote role, it is essential to have excellent self-motivation, close attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Moderate to advanced level computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, and database navigation), and ability to upskill rapidly in Triscos food safety, quality, sustainability and regulatory compliance cloud-based digital portal
Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated strong organisational skills
Ability to travel internationally to Australia for training and as required (at least annually)
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Accuracy, Timeliness, and completeness of gathered and processed data
Ensures reports are provided with accuracy and are provided timely manner based on priority/ business impact.
Effectiveness of reporting templates and methodologies.
Must maintain above industry average/ positive CSAT with end users in terms of the reports they are getting.
User satisfaction with training sessions and support provided.
Reduction in errors and data inconsistencies through effective root cause analysis, proactive monitoring, and documented maintenance.
