Scope
Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor the scope of this role is to help manage and reduce debt to the business and facilitate account reconciliation.

Key Accountabilities
Maintenance and reconciliation of debtor accounts

  • Setting up debtor accounts
  • Debt collection
  • Minimising overdue accounts/risk assessment
  • Answering internal/external customer queries
  • Maintenance of Credit Holds on a National level
  • Process payment receipting
  • Filing of accounts documents
  • Perform a range of administrative and clerical functions to support the business
  • Ad hoc tasks and special projects

Essential Criteria
Experience in an accounting environment and maintaining financial records

  • Good working knowledge of the Pronto System or similar accounting software applications
  • Excellent numerical, keyboard and data entry skills
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, within a service oriented environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy office
  • Ability to deal with confidential information in a professional manner
  • High attention to detail – accuracy is essential
  • Able to communicate clearly, effectively and confidently across all aspects of business
  • Able to compose and issue business documentation (i.e. emails, general correspondence)
  • Excel – must be competent
  • Microsoft Suite – must be competent

Desirable Criteria

Essential

  • Grade 10 numeracy and literacy levels

Desirable

  • Certificate III or higher in Accounting and Bookkeeping

Physical Capabilities
Able to use a computer and phone.

  • Repetitive tasks e.g. typing.
  • Sitting for long periods.
  • Handling, moving and lifting office equipment and supplies.
  • Able to crouch, squat and kneel.
  • Able to hear instructions and safety alarms

Key Performance Indicators

  • Average debtor days is at 37.7 or below
  • Overdue individual team balance to be at 12% or below at end of month
  • Monthly report on debtors at 120+ days
  • Sales Team report for balances rolling into 90 days
  • Credit holds older than 6 weeks to be actioned
  • PBD report to be processed monthly and actioned
  • Quarterly report on customer credit limit evaluation

Safety Requirements

  • All accidents and incidents reported to Supervisor/Manager immediately.
  • All hazards are recorded in Connx within 24 hours and action is taken to eliminate the hazard to avoid injury at the time.
  • Correct method for manual handling is followed
