Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of detailed and accurate estimates for tenders, major quotations, and complex integrated system solutions.
  • Ensure all estimates are technically accurate, commercially viable, and aligned with delivery capabilities.
  • Identify risks early in the estimating process and apply appropriate pricing strategies.
  • Provide alternative solutions and value engineering options where necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales team to support opportunity development and bid strategies.
  • Act as the primary technical resource for complex and high-risk opportunities.
  • Review and challenge submissions prior to client presentation to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Support system design decisions, architecture planning, and compliance requirements.
  • Lead estimating efforts for high-security, regulated, and enterprise-level projects.
  • Work with operations and delivery teams to validate scope, assumptions, and execution plans.
  • Drive consistency, quality, and best practices across estimating processes.
  • Identify gaps in technical knowledge, tools, and systems, and recommend improvements.
  • Support onboarding and development of team members as the business scales.
  • Provide visibility on estimating activities, pipeline support, and key opportunity status.
  • Highlight commercial, technical, and resourcing risks proactively.
    Share insights on market trends, pricing strategies, and competitor activity.

Required Experience

  • Strong experience in estimating within security systems, electrical, ICT, or similar technical industries.
  • Experience handling complex tenders and large-scale projects.
  • Proven ability to balance technical accuracy with commercial competitiveness.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in technical estimating, engineering support, or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of integrated systems and project costing methodologies.

Candidate Must Have

  • Solid technical knowledge of access control, CCTV, networks, and integrated systems.
  • Strong commercial awareness and risk assessment capability.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to take ownership and drive outcomes beyond basic estimating tasks.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts.
  • Ability to collaborate across sales, operations, and delivery teams.
    Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Proficient With

  • Estimating tools, project costing systems, and documentation platforms.
  • Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, etc.).

Experience Advantage

  • Experience working on high-security or regulated environments.
  • Exposure to enterprise-level or multi-system integration projects.
  • Experience supporting Australian or international clients.
