About the role:

We are looking for a reliable and meticulous Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day
financial operations for our Australian-based clients. This role is designed for a
professional who has moved beyond basic data entry and can independently handle end?to-end bookkeeping, payroll, and BAS preparation with minimal supervision.
The successful candidate will ensure all financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and
compliant with ATO (Australian Taxation Office) requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Transactions: Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable, ensuring all
    invoices and bills are coded correctly and paid on time.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform weekly and monthly reconciliations of bank
    accounts, credit cards, and payment gateways (e.g., Stripe or PayPal).
  • Payroll Administration: Process end-to-end payroll, including calculating
    Superannuation (SG), managing leave entitlements, and ensuring compliance with
    STP (Single Touch Payroll) Phase 2.
  • BAS/IAS Preparation: Prepare and draft Business Activity Statements (BAS) and
    Installment Activity Statements (IAS) for review, ensuring GST and PAYG withholding
    are accurately recorded.
  • Intercompany Accounts: Manage simple intercompany transfers and loan account
    reconciliations where applicable.
  • Reporting: Prepare monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports for
    management review.
  • Liaising: Coordinate with external accountants for EOFY (End of Financial Year)
    tasks and provide necessary documentation for tax returns.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: 3–5 years of dedicated bookkeeping experience specifically within the
    Australian market.
  • Software Mastery: Proficient in Xero (preferred) or MYOB, including the use of bank
    rules and automated feeds. Experience with receipt-scanning tools like Dext or
    Hubdoc is essential
